Laser-engraved into 304 or 316 stainless steel (aluminum and brass on request) and marked with weld number, welder ID, heat number, and spec straight from your weld log. Built to tack or spot-weld directly onto the pipe or structure in a heavier gauge, or supplied with a hole and stainless wire to hang at the weld. 304 stainless resists galvanic corrosion when welded to carbon steel, and the engraved marking survives blasting, painting, high heat, and galvanizing.

What material are weld-in tags made from?
Laser-engraved stainless steel is the standard — 304 for general service and 316 for corrosive or marine environments — with aluminum and brass available. 304 stainless resists galvanic corrosion when welded to carbon steel, and the marking is engraved into the metal so it survives blasting, painting, high heat, and galvanizing.
Can weld-in tags be welded directly onto the part?
Yes. They can be tacked or spot-welded directly to the pipe or structure for permanent attachment, built in a heavier stainless gauge for that, or supplied with a hole and stainless wire to hang at the weld. Tell us which and we build to suit.
What information can you mark on a weld-in tag?
Weld number, welder ID or stencil, heat number, spec, line or ISO number, joint number, and date — laser-engraved and sequenced from your weld log. Logos, barcodes, and Data Matrix codes are available.
